Conclusions
•Nested-loops joins between
master and detail event-type heap tables tend to join recent rows
to recent rows, and see much better caching on the joined-to
table and index blocks than the optimizer anticipates.
•Nested loops are
usually faster than they look, and faster than the optimizer estimates.
